Designed by Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo in 1907. Fortuny’s striking floor lamp is a timeless classic, remaining relevant for over a century. A discretely elegant but utterly modern use of materials, it underlines its inherent, honest form of the design. Fortuny expresses the early modernist emphasis on industrial materials, functional style and the spatial role of objects.
Since 1982, the Italian lighting design company Pallucco has designed modern lighting fixtures with the philosophy of having "art prevail over design." As compelling as modern sculpture, the lamp dominates space. The piece utilises adjustable tripod legs, central stem adjustable height finished in an attractive Titanium finish. Tiltable and rotatable shade in an Beige Cotton shade in helping the bulb in delivering warm, soft lighting to the immediate environment.
A true collectors piece. Minor wear with some discolouration to the shade (as pictured). Made in Italy. Retails for $9500.
Titanium finish, Beige cotton outside.
